Cahaba River Society (CRS) was created to be an educator, expert resource, and collaborative partner for science-based and practical solutions to protect and restore the Cahaba River.
We were founded in 1988 with a mission to restore and protect the Cahaba River watershed and its rich diversity of life. To achieve that, we have built solid collaborative partnerships with communities, government officials and businesses. We are always profoundly grateful for the opportunity to share our vision and challenges facing the Cahaba River. We hope you will partner with us to support programs that work towards achieving our three main goals:
- ~ Inspire River Stewardship by connecting people with the River for education, recreation, and volunteer projects
- ~ Restore the River through green Infrastructure and improved policies for clean water, natural flows, and diverse, healthy communities.
- ~ Build our Impact to achieve our mission through collaboration, communication and celebration
Our programs such as our CLEAN Environmental Education Program and Guided Canoe Trips, River Restoration projects, Water-Smart Communities Program, and collaboration with the Cahaba Blueway Project can all be found on our website: www.cahabariversociety.org
Our work is more important than ever and we invite you to join us in protecting this River for generations to come!
